Two eye-catchers at Signe’s construction site
From the very beginning, there has been a lot for passersby to see at the Signe construction site. Now, attention is drawn to the luffing jib cranes erected at the site. These are particularly suitable for cramped construction sites where multiple cranes are needed. Their booms can be lowered or raised, allowing the cranes to easily avoid obstacles or each other. The Signe cranes are the only ones in Finland to have their booms adjusted hydraulically, making the adjustment of the boom’s tilt angle precise and quick.
A few facts about the cranes:
– The masts of the cranes are 54.4 metres high.
– The working length of the booms is 40 metres.
– When the booms are upright, the cranes are 99.8 metres high.
– The cranes have a maximum lifting capacity of 14 tonnes, and the maximum tip load is 7.9 tonnes.
– The angle of the booms can be adjusted using hydraulic cylinders.
– The cranes are situated within the utility shafts in the building’s framework.
– The cranes are used, for example, to move formwork, rebar and precast concrete elements.
– The cranes will be removed when the framework phase is completed in the autumn of 2025.
