District heating works completed, concrete frame progressing

District heating works on Kalevankatu completed 

The extension of Helen’s district heating network, which began earlier this year on Kalevankatu, has now been completed. The area’s new paving has also been finished. The work no longer affects routes or traffic arrangements. We thank our neighbours and those moving through the area for their understanding and patience during the temporary disruptions. 

Concrete frame progressing at good pace 

Work on the new building’s concrete frame is currently underway and will be completed during May. The installation of the facade elements has also started. The final look of the facade will start to take shape in the summer, when the elements get their natural stone finish.  

Tower crane positions changing 

Since October, the Signe construction site has been using two press-boom tower cranes, a type rarely seen in Finland. At the end of April, one of the cranes will be relocated elsewhere on the site, and the other will be dismantled entirely. These changes will not affect the surrounding area or traffic.
